551 Atopic dermatitis in childhood and academic performance

Atopic dermatitis (AD) may affect academic performance,e.g., through poor attention due to itching. We examined this hypothesis in a binational study using data from linked nationwide Danish registries and English the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents Children (ALSPAC) National Pupil Database. In Denmark, we included children birth cohorts 1986–2000 who were alive on their 13thbirth day. compared grade point average (GPA) ninth final exams Mathematics those with (n=12,824) vs. without (n=932,798) hospital inpatient or outpatient clinic diagnosis AD before age 13.
